My Interpretation of Coldplay's song "Yellow"

SUMMARY
This is a love song, not necessarily for the opposite sex. This is a love song would sing to his bestfriend, buddy, mum, dad, or anyone who brought you sunshine. This song is about telling someone how much you love, thank, and cherish a person and how good of a person you think he/she is.

When you were Yellow(cowardly, afraid) they were the bit of yellow(sunshine, beacon of hope)for him. And now that that they are yellow (afraid, cowardly) and they need someone so bad, you would take your turn and become strong for them. You would go lengths and you'd risk everything, because you love them. You will be their yellow(hope).

And now everything is YELLOW(Happy)

Interpretation of the Maroon 5's Song "Moves Like Jagger"

Summary
Moves Like Jagger = Not Dance Moves
Mick Jagger doesn't dance well, but he can pull some tricks with the girls. He can capture any woman even at his old age.

The song is about flirting and pulling the moves on women, making them believe that the relationship is about 'em girls, but they're just tricks/flings/trophies for these player guys.

Interpretation of Foster the People's song "Pumped Up Kick"

All the other kids with the PUMPED UP KICKS
= kids with New Shoes
=kids with great future ahead of them
= kids who used to picked on him

SUMMARY

READING Between the LINES

The Song is about Robert, a cowboy acting kid who found a gun is his cold loving father's closet. He's lost his reasoning, and took that gun and chased the kids who used to pick on him.

Reading Beyond the LINES

The song is about Robert, a confused kid. He doesn't know what's right from wrong, and he feels so unloved by his father. He was always so observant, that one day he discovered about his father's secret that cracked him open. All the pain everyone inflicted on him and all the lack of attention by his father made him burst out into anger. And he's gonna throw all his anger to all the other kids who he envies the most, them with functional parents, and them with bright futures ahead of them. Unlike himself.

Interpretation of Lady Gaga's song "You and I"

Background
Lady Gaga had an on-and-off, on-and-off again relationship with Luc Carl, who owns a bar, and is a bartender in Nebraska. They've been together for six years until Lady Gaga got her break to be this ultimate pop star, and she had to let him go.

Lady Gaga wrote this song because of a dare. Someone dared her to write a hit song in ten minutes. And so she did.

Summary

This song is about leaving someone for something more special and when you've gone so far, you realize how you have been with the most important thing in the world and so you turn back. You turn back to the one you left, hoping and wishing there's still something to return to/ to welcome you back. The song is really open-ended, it really doesn't say if they got back together. But It says in the end that there's "
something about just knowing when it's right". It somehow entails how you know you two are for each other, and you may not be together now, one day you will be together, Because you know that what you have is right.

Interpretation of Amy Winehouse's song "You Know That I'm No Good"

Summary

This song is about a girl who can't stick to one. She's in love with a guy, who is also very in love with her. She's trying so hard to stay faithful to him but she just can't. They split up, but when she cried for him and she said she was gonna change, he decided for them to get married. And when they were married she repeated her crime, and he didn't give her any reaction. He got so fed up with her cheating that he just shrugged his shoulders and gave her the silent treatment. And she felt worse.

Interpretation of Amy Winehouse's song "Tears Dry on Their Own"

Amy Winehouse - Tears Dry On Their Own by AmyWinehouse

Summary

This beautiful song is about loving someone who doesn't love you back, or a bad romance. And the hard thing about this song's story is that the person she loves is using her feelings for him to take advantage of her. She regrets everything that she's done with him but whenever they're together she just forgets everything. She feels that love is being foolish. And If she's gonna be a fool, better be fool for the one she loves. But in the latter part of the song, she decides to choose herself. She left him. It was painful for her, yes. But she's looking forward to finding her mr. right.

Interpretation of Coldplay's "Viva La Vida"

Viva La Vida=Long live the Life

Summary

Reading Between the Lines

The song is about someone who used to be powerful. He had everything in his hand, and it made people hate him. He used everything in his power to keep his position which made him change. And when he made a single but huge mistake, everyone was waiting for his beheading and he lost everything he owned. And when he lost everything, all that he could have is his faith. He used all his vacant time ( which is all day, since he has nothing to do anymore) worshiping and hearing preachers and he became religious.

A classic story of Richest to Rags and finding salvation in religion.

Reading Beyond The Lines

This is a story about death. A person believes he has everything going good in his life, and when he died he was shaken, and everything bad he has done flashed to him and he realized all the bad thing he has done. And for the last seconds before facing St. Peter, he's trying to be religious and all but everything's too late now, and he just feels like St. Peter wont allow him to enter God's kingdom.

Hence the title, Viva La Vida=Long Live the Life
Live your life with a Godly purpose because you never know when your time will come.
