Interpretation of Lady Gaga's song "You and I"

Background

Lady Gaga had an on-and-off, on-and-off again relationship with Luc Carl, who owns a bar, and is a bartender in Nebraska. They've been together for six years until Lady Gaga got her break to be this ultimate pop star, and she had to let him go.

Lady Gaga wrote this song because of a dare. Someone dared her to write a hit song in ten minutes. And so she did.

Summary

This song is about leaving someone for something more special and when you've gone so far, you realize how you have been with the most important thing in the world and so you turn back. You turn back to the one you left, hoping and wishing there's still something to return to/ to welcome you back. The song is really open-ended, it really doesn't say if they got back together. But It says in the end that there's "something about just knowing when it's right". It somehow entails how you know you two are for each other, and you may not be together now, one day you will be together, Because you know that what you have is right.

(Line 1,2) It shows you a scene where she went somewhere far for a long time and she's finally back, but it really means that she's been confused for a long time but now she knows what/who she really wants.
(Line 3) She finally realizes that "He" is the one she really wants.
(Line 4) Whiskey==>drunk state
She's remembering the feeling when they were together. And everytime they kiss, she goes into a deep high/drunk state.
(Line 5) She wants to be his babe again===> this explains the doll in the ice cream truck that Lady Gaga was chasing

(Line 1,2) When she came back, he welcomed her again, and accepted her for who she is/became(high heels on)
(Line 3,4) They sat on a couch and reminisced how they were in the past.
(Line 5-9) Before, when they were new lovers, they used to chill in his bar, they used to lean on one another when one is feeling lonely/sad.

(Line 1) Lady Gaga became known two years ago, and she had to let go of her boyfriend for her dreams.
(Line 2) When they separated she really felt so sad that she couldn't listen to a joke or rock and roll song because it reminds her of him.
(Line 3) Heavy sad feelings burdened her because of what had happened to them.
(Line 4,5) She then remembered one birthday, where he sang her with a very beautiful and heartful song(heart of gold) and he was playing acoustic and he was so vulnerable(no clothes)
(Line 6) And that was when she thought, what in the world is she doing? Letting the man of his life go.

(Line 1,2) She's talking about her career. She's got a lot of fans already, but she still has to pay her dues(share of people's skepticism, criticism, and ordeals) because she hasn't engraved herself yet a spot in Hollywood.
(Line 3,4) These lines just tells him how special he is for her, that she would serve him, only her lover, in line with Jesus Christ and her Daddy( her creators)
(Line 5,6) They've been lovers for so long (six whole years) and she's thinking about how significant those years have been for them(the chase)
(Line 7) Because she's a very different girl (a city girl from New York) compared to him( a Nebraska town guy), they were born for each other, to complement each other/opposites attract( born to run you down)
